Medical Student Leaders for the Summer EM URM Fellowship

The EM URM Fellowship is seeking interested UCSF students (MS3+) to be a part of the administrative leadership team. You would be joining a group of ~10 EM attendings and residents who run the summer program for mostly first-year students, exposing them to EM clinical skills, research opportunities, and advocacy tools. As part of the leadership team, you would assist with program development/operations, help teach and demonstrate clinical skills, and provide mentorship.

There is room for you to take initiative within the program as well, with possible opportunities for publication! It's a perfect way to meet UCSF EM faculty and residents, as well as students from around the country. In addition, the commitment is eligible for Career Launch Elective Skills credit as Course 196 Medical Student Teaching.

Commitment

The team will meet virtually 1-2x/month until the program starts next summer and then meet regularly during the program duration (July/Aug 2024). You do not need to identify as URM or be confirmed EM-bound to join the team. Students planning on taking time off after clerkships are encouraged to reach out too!
